I have my Roaming Add-On which works well but I now need to add on the ability to call numbers in the USA/Canada starting with 01 when I'm in the UK or when I'm in the USA - which do I need (web site is not clear)

  • 500min International Add-On
  • 30 mins from anywhere Add-On

  • International Calls are for when you are in UK calling to abroad.
  • Calls from Anywhere are for when you are in certain countries abroad for calling within that country & to UK. It is not available in USA cuz the Roam Abroad Pass already covers such calls.

For International Calls you might also want to consider that EE has a add-on, free on PAYG or £2 pm on contract, that anyone, on PAYG or contract, can apply for to give these calls & texts at a fraction of the standard rates. See The CALL ABROAD Add-on for Cheap Calls/Texts from UK .

When you're in the UK, you are not roaming and merely making international calls. When you're in the USA, you are roaming.

I believe the 500mins bundle is for international calls from the UK, and the "from anywhere" applies for calling from abroad (i.e. roaming)

You mention having "My Roaming add-on" which I presume refers to the Roam Abroad pass, if so that should include in-country calls to US numbers.

So with the Roam abroad Pass calling phones in the USA when in the USA should I just dial 01 for the number or +1 ?

Last time I was there I got a big bill for calling is this because I made the mistake of adding the international prefix?

The presence (or otherwise) of the international prefix is immaterial for billing purposes - the itemisation may show differently but charges should be the same.

Many thanks for the help - really usful
