Honestly it works. All I have is a Samsung Phone and Samsung TV. I added the Apple App on my TV, clicked on the Get this add-on button that you highlighted above and it worked. The Apple trial now works on my phone and on my TV.
Give it a try and ignore the very misleading 'Available for Apple devices only'.
