With the HBO Max UK launch details announced today, I’m wondering how this will work with existing accounts that have TNT Sports Ultimate as an inclusive extra add on.
Will we just get the entertainment content like the previous addition of DIscovery+ or will something more convoluted happen?
If I need to subscribe separately to watch The Pitt, so be it.

Just to say that TNTSports website - where @Matt_124 quoted has been revised.
For example (last week and quoted 09Feb2026)
"BT & EE TV
From the 26 March you can continue to access TNT Sports and discovery+ entertainment content on HBO Max, download the HBO Max app and sign in with your discovery+ email and password."
This week ( 19Feb2026 it says)

Hi @DarrenDev
Am I right in thinking that if I am a Sports subscriber through EE I won’t be able to subscribe to HBO Max through the same email I have with EE.
Meaning I’d have to have to have 2 separate HBO logins to watch their premium content if I wanted to subscribe with them direct?
1 login to watch TNT.
1 login to watch everything else.
Thanks in advance.

Correct @BenJones90 - you'll need 2 different logins, as a single account cannot have 2 billing sources.

I have TNT Sport via my BT Broadband package (they swapped my BT mobile to EE a year or so back). Currently watch via Discovery+ app on Sky and Samsung Smart TV (and on iPad/iPhone). How will this change affect me? Do I just need to download the HBO Max app to everything (assume Sky will have in their app section?). Or what? I have received nothing from. BT about this..
Also, will the access via Discovery+ stop on 26 March or will there be a transition? Can see chaos as everyone tries to download app on same day otherwise. Why is the app not available to download in advance and just goes live on 26th? Seems a nightmare scenario potentially.

@Headpin yes, you will need to download the HBO Max app on your Samsung TV and iPad/iPhone. Your Sky box should handle it automatically I believe.
There won't be any transition I'm afraid - the discovery+ app will lose TNT Sports on March 26th, the same day that it starts on HBO Max. It's possible that the app will be in the store early, but unlikely. The app stores are more than capable of handling everyone downloading the new app on the same day.

@Bilbo6 see this page for full info on EE Mobile subscriptions and how they're affected by the move to HBO Max:

To answer your specific question - no, you won't have the full HBO Max subscription. You'll just have access to TNT Sports.

It doesn't allow me subscribe to HBO Max plans so I guess I need to create a new account for that. I hope EE combines them or to include the plans to the benefit list in the future so I can have both of them in one account.

Unfortunately there are currently no plans to offer this @Antonis1

Up and running as expected using two logins, a bit of a faff at first, but thinking about it in the long run it will allow me to drop in and out of the entertainment content without causing issues for sports content.
In my case I went with using one device solely for the entertainment login, with all other devices setup for sports.
There does however appear to be a way to add access (no saver plan option though) to the entertainment content if you log in to the hbomax website and for them to bill you separately.
Whatever route you take enjoy the content.
