TNT Sports Ultimate and HBO Max

With the HBO Max UK launch details announced today, I’m wondering how this will work with existing accounts that have TNT Sports Ultimate as an inclusive extra add on.

Will we just get the entertainment content like the previous addition of DIscovery+ or will something more convoluted happen?

If I need to subscribe separately to watch The Pitt, so be it.

Information seems to be available for the various types of subscription and content partners towards the bottom of the story here: https://www.tntsports.co.uk/all-sports/hbo-max-the-new-streaming-home-of-tnt-sports_sto23264114/stor...

" BT & EE TV

EE Mobile

"Starting 26 March 2026, TNT Sports will no longer be available to stream on discovery+ and your new streaming destination will be HBO Max.

What happens to your subscription depends on which TNT Sports plan you have and how you signed up"

"discovery+ TNT Sports plan - From 26th March 2026, your subscription will continue on HBO Max. On 26 March, download the HBO Max app and sign in using your discovery+ email and password.

discovery+ TNT Sports and entertainment plan - From 26 March 2026, your subscription will continue on HBO Max. On 26 March, download the HBO Max app and sign in using your discovery+ email and password. On that day, you'll get access to both TNT Sports along with all of the amazing entertainment content available on HBO Max, including select discovery+ content.

discovery+ Entertainment plan (without TNT Sports) - If you have the discovery+ Entertainment plan, there won't be any changes to your plan. You can continue to enjoy the same entertainment offerings that are available today on discovery+."

Seems as though it will be a TNT Sports Only  subscription (worth £30.99) for EE Mobile.

Thanks for the information, if this plays out as stated I’ll subscribe separately for the HBO Max content to be able to drop in and out.

Will the hbo max app appear automatically via the EE TV box for 26 Mar? We don't have a full internet TV which does not itself allow app downloads, but do have EE TV box. Currently watching cycling via discovery plus app on EE TV box connected to TV.

That level of detail isn't currently available unfortunately, only subscription details.

I believe @DarrenDev has stated that an official announcement will be made on the EE TV specific implications before the changes come into effect (statement coming "later this week" I believe).

The changes don't happen until March 26th.

Full details about how it will affect subscriptions, packages, apps, and logins will be provided later this week.

Yes apologies I meant the statement later this week as opposed to the changes.

I have the TNT package with the UHD big screen add on.

The thing is I’d like to subscribe to HBO Premium too so I can enjoy their shows in 4K + Dolby, I’m wondering if that’ll be possible with EE. I’d rather not have two log ins to switch between.

We won’t know exactly until the app is active for consumers on March 26th, but my understanding of this is when we use our current login details to access TNT Sports through the HBO Max app we will get some offer or ability to ‘bolt on’ the entertainment content.

How this will be billed either through EE or directly to HBO we just don’t know right now, but they seem to be working with all their current partners both before and after launch.

So I would think a single login situation is highly likely.

I share my current TNT Sports Plan, which is an extra under my SIM plan with EE, with a couple of friends as up to 3 connections are permitted. Will this continue with HBO Max? I haven’t been able to find anything
