Smart Benefits on existing Tariff when "Contract Ends" - AKA Minimum Term

Hi,

I am currently on a 2023 All Rounder SIM contract .. All rounder seems to have been changed, had TNT Sports removed and is not only available on the expensive Full Works Tarriff.

I am keen to retain Discovery+/TNT. My contract is up in April however the "Upgrade" offers come at a drastic uplift in price to include this smart add-on as above.  Im aware from forum replies to similar themed threads that its actually a minimum term. I am tempted to allow the contact to roll on past the stated expiry date onto a monthly basis. The big question is will my current terms be carried over along with my smart add-on options.

The other comment often made is that after 3 months you will get 10% discount .. I don't understand this, can I expect the same ?

In relation to the Minimum term confusion with ee customers , it would be helpful if they themselves used this terminology on their apps and bills as mine clearly stated "Contract Ends" rather than Minimum Term

Would appreciate any advice. I popped into an ee shop in town yesterday and they seemed unable to come close and said I was on a very good tariff. I do have a discount on it , if that ends its still a good price compared to any renewal upgrade offers.

Thanks in advance.

The 10% discount after 3 months is not applicable to SIM Only tariffs, this only applies to out of contract legacy Phone tariffs where you paid one combined price for the phone and SIM (not Flex Pay).

You can just stick on your current tariff and let it roll on. You won't lose your Inclusive Extras (but in the T&Cs EE do reserve the right to modify/change/withdraw Inclusive Extra options, but generally they don't tend to do this) and your discount staying on will depend on what kind of discount it is and what was agreed on your original contract (sometimes these are "£XX for 24 Months" discounts and as such can fall off).

Mobile service contracts don't automatically end at the completion of the minimum term, as otherwise customers would be cut off. They just continue on a monthly rolling basis until the customer takes action.

Hey Matt, that's a great reply, thank you very much and so quickly too.

Yes I'm on a sim only contract so it wont apply , no biggy. Also good to know I can relax and just let things tick on. Aware my price will jump with the annual increases in April but that applies to all tariffs.

You mention my contract but I have been searching for this , but cannot find an ee email around the time I took out the contract, also cannot find it online in my account specifically over and above my bill. I have found more general FAQs and T&C's though. Is there a specific place I can find my contract and its terms specific to my contract ?

Regards Dwayne

No simple way to know for absolute certain beyond having a copy saved or a print out from the time unfortunately, but it may state it on your PDF Bill in the Monthly Charges section. A limited time discount sometimes shows as "£XX discount for 24 months" in here, but not always.

In my case, I have F&F but it doesn't have an expiry date and shows like this:

(Image will need to be approved, may take some time to show up for you)

Alternatively, in your Add-Ons section of your account if you click on the discount add-on it would sometimes have an "Expires on DD MM YYYY" if was a discount which was limited to a specific term.

Apart from the above, could just be a bit of a wait and see until you are outside your min. term.

Hope this helps.
