Roaming Pass in Australia

Hi there,

I bought a monthly roaming pass to use when I'm in australia. I am not in Australia and the monthly roaming pass, which I am paying for is not working and now I am having to top up daily for 500mb at £8 just to use the internet.

I would like clarification on what's happening on my account and be refunded for the past 24 hours as I am paying for 2 things when I only need one, but the one i need isn't working.

@anishbagga89  Are you on contract or PAYG ?   The roaming pass is for contract customers only and it only allows you to use your tariff allowance when in that or other locations that this pass covers.     If you’re not in Australia the pass isn’t used although you are billed for it because you have purchased it.  It doesn’t give you more data to use outside of your allowance when roaming and then you can only use up to 50Gb per month when roaming from your tariff allowance.   The pass allows you to use your tariff allowance when in that location.

500Meg of data doesn’t cost £8

but you say you are topping up so that’s a PAYG and the roaming pass isn’t for PAYG customers.

If, as previous posts suggests, you are on PAYG, it should not be possible to purchase the Roam Abroad pass. It's not available on the PAYG bundle system - so something else is awry here.

@Chris_B : I suspect the "top up" used here is not being used in the conventional PAYG sense for adding credit to the account, but just for adding a non-EU roaming daily data add-on. Atho' for Oz I see none for 500MB at £8; only 50MB at £7.03 (Contract) or at £6.52 (PAYG). There is no 500MB wedge. 300MB would cost £33-35. All per day.
