Roaming NZ & Australia - how to activate the Roam Abroad Pass on arrival?

My Roam Abroad Pass is set up to commence on 15 Nov, but will I need to send a text message to activate the Pass on arrival abroad?

Since the beginning of October I have been unable to send texts although my monthly plan gives me unlimited texts and calls.  It's a problem with Spend Cap.  I have had many phone calls with EE's Tech Support, including their Level 2 Tech Team.  They acknowledge it is a 'known problem' but have been unable so far to find a solution.  I am concerned that if the problem is still unresolved by the time I leave for New Zealand, I may not be able to activate and use the Roam Abroad Pass on arrival.  Any help with this query very gratefully received!

Thanks for coming back to us @Lupin1

It sounds like this is in hand for you with the correct team, appreciate the update and letting us know 🙂

If you can send texts to 150, you can text ROAMING to 150 to make sure roaming is set up and text ROAMING PASS to 150 to get the Roam Abroad Pass activated if this is not showing when you're leaving the UK 🙂

I hope the texts are sorted soon for you and you have an amazing time.

Leanne.

Thanks. Text ROAMING PASS to 150 when you are ready to buy it. When you want it to stop text STOP ROAMING PASS to 150.

That's great.  Thanks very much @XRaySpeX .  The EE colleague who switched me from PAYG to a monthly plan on 1 Oct has (I'm told) already set me up for the Roam Abroad Pass to start on the day I leave the UK, i.e. 15 Nov.  Do you think I still need to Text ROAMING PASS to 150 before I go ... that might duplicate and confuse matters?  Sorry, I'm doing this for the first time, so I'm not 100% sure of the correct procedure.  Also, I was told the Pass would automatically expire on 15 Dec, but I guess there's no harm in texting STOP ROAMING PASS to 150 when I return in early Dec, to ensure I'm not billed for a second month!

If you see the Roam Abroad Pass active in your Add-ons & Extras by 15 Nov then you've no need to use the text method.
