Is TNT Sports on discovery+ really free?

I have a 30 Day Essential Sim, at one time it was originally an Orange Value Promise one2one account.  That became an EE Orange one2one tariff (!) before someone realized that was stupid and I was moved onto an EE SIM-only 4G tariff, that has now been moved to this 5G tariff.

But I was looking at my account in the EE app and noticed that under add-ons it lists TNT Sports on discovery+ as being "Free".  At least that is what the button says.  If I click on it the next page says it to says "Free," but clicking on "See full add-on details" it reveals a hidden last line says "Just £20 a month".

My understanding is I get no extras, which is fine as I am on a cheap tariff and still getting a discount on that based on my original contract (with annual rises) anyway.  But this is an add-on rather than an extra.  But a free add-on?  Maybe?

So is it free or is it £20?

And if it is free, is it a trial or just actually free?  Apple News+ has a "Free trial" button then says "Free for up to 6 months" on the next page, with the price after that clearly shown.

But if it is not free, and does cost £20, then why does it say Free?

It is all very confusing so I do not know what to do.  I will happily take it if it is free, but it is not something important enough to me to be worth paying for.  And I do not want to click further only to find I have been tricked into that.

Hi @Dragonsa12

If the add-on did show as free there should be no charge for this.

Should you wish to check this our customer care team will be able to confirm if TNT Sports is free for you.

For reference, I did nothing about because, after the discussion here, I was sure it was a mistake, and I do not make voice calls so could not call customer services to confirm.

But checking MyEE just now it is showing £20.00 on the button, so I assume whatever had gone wrong before has been fixed.  I guess that means if it says free to anyone else it is most likely because they do qualify to get it for free..

This definitely still seems to be an issue on EE's website, in the two screenshots I have the first shows it's 'Free' in my add-ons section on the website, when I clicked on I was sent the following text saying it would be £20 a month!

Hi @Marty_T

Thanks for coming here.

I would recommend giving our customer care team a call on 150.

The team will be able to advise you on what is happening on your account in regards to TNT Sports and will be able to raise a ticket for this if required.
