International Call Add-Ons

GiveMeFive
Visitor

Hi,

i just received a text message informing me that my international calling abroad that’s currently £0 will be increasing to £1.50 a month in October. I rarely call abroad, so I’m considering stopping the add on, but the text warns that if I cancel it cannot be reinstated.

I understand EE offers a newer Initernationsl calls option for £2.50 a month.

I’m wondering how the discount rates compare between my current add on and the £2.50 add on.  Is there a comparative table available or two tables I can compare?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @GiveMeFive,

Welcome to the EE Community

You can find the price comparisons for the two add-ons on pages 10 and 11 of our price guide. With page 10 being the rates for the Calling abroad add-on you currently have and page 11 being the £2.50 international pass calling rates.

@Alex_H : Where in that Price Guide, on pp 10 or 11 or elsewhere, does it state the costs of these 2 call abroad schemes?

It is easy to be confused between the 2 lines in the Add-Ons section:

Calling abroad                                      International Calls Add-On (500 minutes to 50 destinations) £14.05
from UK1,3                                             International Calls Extra Add-On (250 minutes to 100 destinations) £28.15

& the tables on pp 10 & 11, thinking they refer to the same things, but they don't!

  • The Add-Ons things offer a fixed no. of free mins / 30-days for a price.
  • The tables on pp 10 & 11 offer reduced rate calls to various countries for unknown prices.

I also understand that they are invoked or ordered in diff ways:

  • The Add-Ons by texting 500INTL1 or 250INTL2 to 150.
  • The tables on pp 10 & 11 by texting CALL ABROAD to 150 for 1 of them at least.

@XRaySpeX The add-ons table on page 6 advises of the available to buy monthly add-ons, including the 3 calling abroad add-ons. The two inclusive minutes options and the one reduced calling rate one and the prices.

The table on page 10 headed Calling abroad add-on rates refers to the legacy add-on which has not been available for some time now but which some customers still have and which will soon increase from free to £1.50 a month. Those who still have the add-on are being notified by text like the OP. So the price is not mentioned on page 6 for this one as it is no longer available to buy.

The table on page 11 headed International pass add-on rates refers to the £2.50 International pass add-on that is available for sale mentioned in the add-ons table on page 6.

You are right in terms of how to add them via text and they are also available to add online as well.

@Alex_H : Thank you. I get it now.

I was looking at an older Price Guide, Dec '25,  which didn't have the Add-On:

International Pass Add-On £2.50
