I purchased the EU data add on and it worked for a couple days but now doesn’t work at all. I keep getting txts saying “welcome to (new country) to use data you will need to purchase an add on or pay roaming charges of ….” But in my EE app it says the add on is active. I have tried manually connecting to another network and fiddling with my settings but nothing works.

Hi @Beckyumbers,

Did you text ROAMING to 150 before you left the UK? If not then you will need to do it via the My EE app or website.

Just enabling the addon isn't enough.

Have you also purchased the roam abroad pass to ensure you can use your data abroad?

Hi I can’t see anything about a roam abroad pass on there? I purchased the 5gb of EU data to use across 30 days add-on. Why would I then have to pay to use the add on I purchased?

Hi @Beckyumbers

All EE users pay as you go and pay monthly are now required to purchase a pass to use their data abroad. Even if the data you have is an additional data add-on to use this you will need a roam further pass.
