Can anybody tell me how to put a discount code in from the my ee app I have spoken to customer service they said I could use the app to put it on but I can't seem to find out how to do it or where to do it

You can't that way! Discount codes may be applied at PoS when buying a new contract or upgrading or if it wasn't by calling CS within 30 days of purchase. They cannot be applied mid-term.
