Can't buy NReal Air

I'm not a EE client. However, the website clearly states that I should be able to buy them from a store.Screenshot 2022-06-06 015533.png

I've gone to two different ones in my city and both said that the order NEEDS to be done online, even after I say I'm not a client. I'm confused? I really want to get these but I've run into wall after wall.

Yes, @techuser , if they don't stock them they will order them in from another store that does via their Sales Plus system. Remind them of that.

Thanks James - really helpful. I think I will go over to the store in person. My worry is that they tell me the same thing as they did earlier. Is there something specific I need to tell them ? Also, I take it you work for EE ?

Hi @techuser

That's right, @James_B works for EE.

Katie 🙂

Thanks. So just an update on this after making some calls:

* My local store (1 Half Moon Passage, London E1 8DZ) are adamant that I have to be an EE customer to place an order.

* EE Moorgate tell me I have to go to a specialist store as not all EE stock it.

* Two other stores (Tottenham Court Road, Westfield Stratford) tell me I can pre-order.

Is it possible someone could connect with my local store (situated in the BT HQ of all places!) and advise them of the correct policy. I can do a trek to the other stores, though it seems a bit crazy that the one nearest me (and the one in BT HQ!) don't seem to have the right information.

Many thanks - this community is really helpful for info and response.

Hi @techuser

I can send feedback regarding this.

Please advise the store the order can be placed through Sales Plus.

Katie 🙂

Many thanks !

So just a follow up on this. I managed to get the Tottenham Court Road branch to order a device for me. It arrived today and I went to collect it.

Collection process was a bit shambolic as the person who originally took my receipt and checked my ID clearly had no idea what was going on. But eventually I got a unit in my hand that was mine.

That's the good news.. now the bad news...

I waited 45 mins in the store for them to struggle to process the £25 deposit refund (as it couldn't be deducted from the purchase price), during which when turning away to take a call (and with the goods in full sight of the staff) another irate customer (who had been there even longer) stormed out the store taking the bag with the NREAL Air and receipt away.

The staff were completely uninterested in helping me saying that as I had already paid for the goods it was my responsibility ! That's my issue to deal with directly with EE and I've already spoken with the Police.

Overall an absolute shambles. EE stores are a complete absolute mess,  5 of their tablets sitting around and clearly a POS system that doesn't work and requires them to actually make calls to get anything done. This is a Central London main store, no idea what other regional stores must be like.

@techuser  Someone taking your item from the store isn’t EE responsibility considering you’d already purchased the item.  The item was yours so you was the one who was robbed,  When does EE stop taking responsibility for the item you purchased and had already taken delivery of ?  I know that sounds harsh but that’s the reality of it,   Sounds like someone was wanting to steal from the store and seen an opportunity to do so.

So I was about to try and buy a pair of these, but reading this thread it sems like it isn't even worth trying from EE. Does anyone know if things have got better?
