Beware of lifetime warranty scam

I took my handset to the EE shop to go away for repair. The girl in the shop noted down Good no dents or marks on the paper work. They then sent it off to their repairer and come back and said it got damage. Dents and scratches and to repair it will cost £430. They have now sided with their repairer and not the customer and offered half the cost to upgrade early. Absolute disgrace. So just beware of the the rip off.

Hi @Del6959

I am very sorry to hear this has happened.

If you would like to discuss this further and go through your options, please give us a call on 150 and the team will be happy to help.

Thanks.

Leanne.

Hello Leanne,

I have already spoke to the team on Friday at great length. What they offered was an insult considering my phone is now  damaged.  I will just have to find out legally where I stand. As i have a signed copy of the document your colleague signed to say it was in good condition no dents. So one option is I get it repaired locally and then claim it back through the small claims court.

Regards

Derek.

Has the phone been returned with dents and scratches after sending for repair? @Del6959

Leanne.

I got a text this morning saying its now back at the shop. Even though I asked Gemma a team leader to hang fire over the weekend. So I could weigh up my options over the weekend. But obviously they have other ideas. Great customer service not.

Once you get the device back, please contact us and let the team know if this has dents and scratches after being returned @Del6959

Our mobile care team will get this looked into further for you.

Leanne.

There seems little point to that as they have already wasted a lot of my time and don't really want to know. I spent 50 minutes on the phone to them on Friday to no avail. My contract ends in July along with my wife's, so I will see it out rather than pay them off.

Had a call from EE appertaining to my complaint. Total waste of time, Brian was no help what so ever and would not take responsibility for the damage to my phone even though I left it at their shop. A total disgrace  and most unhelpful customer service I have ever witnessed. They are now sending me a letter so I can go through the ombudsman.

Same thing is happening to me. Sent my phone to get fixed, even put it the phone box to prevent damage, and the phone has come back with a cracked screen and scratches all over it! It looks like they let a cat have a rip at it! EE and the repair team are avoiding responsibility despite me having photographical evidence of my phone the day I sent it off! I lost a 1k phone and they offered was £200 towards a repair that they quoted me cost at LEAST £350 to fix! Some sort of scam operation is happening here! I am now forced to pay a bill for phone I can't use! I've taken it to the Ombudsman!
