I went to Menorca (Spanish island) for a few day and could NOT get
ROAMEU7D
working on two phones to be charged £10 in total for 7 days for the privilege to use my phones texts, calls and data within the EU.
https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/pay-as-you-go-charges-for-roaming-in-the-eu
(Nor does it mention anything about having a Spend Cap set up on the account on the above link before being able to use a phone abroad in the EU)
The whole thing just gets stuck in a loop repeating itself when you text ROAMEU7D to 150 and you can't ever activate it.
In the end I had to just let it take £2.47 a day instead to get it to work.
If this was some poor old person who wasn't tech savvy, I bet they would have been seriously upset by the whole ordeal.
I've searched about this and MANY others users have had this problem too over the years and yet its still never been sorted.
I really don't see why EE continue to charge their customers to use their phone within the EU when MOST other mobile phone companies don't. This entire problem would go away and everything would be much easier if calls/texts/data were included.

You seem rather confused. If you managed to invoke the £2.47 / day roaming charge you must be on contract, not PAYG. Therefore the text ROAMEU7D is invalid for contracts.

So what option am I supposed to use for one month contracts for similar to ROAMEU7D ?

Hi @coffee_king,
You can get the Roam Abroad Pass added to your pay monthly account by texting ROAMING PASS to 150.
Please see How Do I Get the Roam Abroad Pass? | Roaming Help | EE for more information.
Thanks
James
