voicemail settings outside UK

I was in Thailand recently and tried to retrieve a voicemail to my UK number. I was given the option to access the voicemail with either the Thai international dialing prefix or the usual UK prefix. I opted for the Thai prefix but since I have returned to the UK I've been picking up voicemails whilst inadvertently still using the Thai international dialing prefix. Not being given any option. As a result I have been incurring roaming charges to retrieve VMs using the Thai prefix even though I am back in the UK! Is there a solution to this, please?

When Roaming try using the same 222 Number for Voicemail as some Roaming Networks recognise your UK EE Number and 222 as you trying to call your Home Voicemail and will automatically connect you to your UK VM, if the Roaming Network does not recognise 222 then you should use +447953 222222 from your Mobile or another Phone but in most cases you will need your pre-set Voicemail PIN Number for access.

Sounds like you have somehow included a Thai International Prefix onto your VM Number, really not sure how you have done this, and this is now getting routed Internationally when you accessing your UK VM Number?, where you also using a Thai Pre Paid International Calling Card or Service per chance?

So what number are you dialling to access your voicemail box and are you getting connected?

You can't incur roaming charges when in the UK however are you saying you're calling a Thai number (beginning +66) every time you want to access your voicemail?

If so, you need to check the number your phone has set up to access voicemail

Hi, been trying to find out how to check VM settings, specifically the number being used to dial VM but can't find that information anywhere??

Most phones have a menu option where the voicemail speed-dial (key 1 on your keypad) is pre-set, I suspect as above, this has been changed. The location of this varies between Apple & Android, but check this option is set correctly.
