Hi,
looking at iOS 27 ( in public beta but due in September )
iOS 27 does allow eSIM/number sharing across multiple iPhones, and Apple explicitly confirmed it at WWDC 2026. It works very similarly to Apple Watch Number Sharing, but now extended to two iPhones instead of an iPhone + Watch.
does EE support this ( or will they ).
thanks.

@Clever_Trevor The Apple Watch it’s linked at account level so a call to the iPhone results in a call to the watch. It’s not sharing the number per say. The watch has its own number for a data connection and data usage and for billing purposes. And as iOS 27 isn’t yet available ie released yet EE don’t have to announce anything about this being possible at the moment. You’ll have to wait and see. But I imagine it’ll work very similar to how the watch currently works and if that’s the case you’ll probably need to pay a connection for that other device. I’ve just been reading about this and from what I read it says it probably needs carrier support it doesn’t say it will need carrier support. So from that who knows if it’s going to be a carrier supported service or not. You’ll need to wait and see until OS 27 is released to find out more.

I strongly suspect this will employ a similar architecture to how Orange's single-number service worked.
You had 2 completely independent SIM & devices, but with the slave SIM configured with "presentation number" for outgoing-CLI. Incoming call diverts were used between the primary & secondary devices, just leaving text messaging without a technical solution.

Hello. Could anyone from EE tell me whether this is going to be possible with EE? Apple have made the software capable, but apparently the carrier also needs to facilitate this. I know the public release isn’t until September, but this would be an incredibly useful addition to my EE account if they would facilitate this feature. I am not looking to share ‘phones with anyone, I want to use both myself (not simultaneously, obviously!). Thanks in advance.

@G100 EE don’t have to announce anything about this yet and that’s if they are going to support it and that’s if it’s a carrier service it might not be. Nothing has been confirmed how the service will work. So you’ll not get any information about this at present.
