@chrisf888 you can use Wi-Fi has much as you like EE don’t charge you for Wi-Fi. Using cellular data, phone calls. texts will cost you.

Text RO Costa Rica to 150 see what you can purchase in order to use your device away from Wi-Fi.

you also need to enable roaming on your EE account so you can connect to a local network. To do this just text ROAMING to 150. having roaming enabled on your account is free.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Not only does EE not charge you for using WiFi on your phone, it has nowt to do with them. They only provide the mobile network.

WiFi is just a wireless connection between a mobile device and a broadband router. Totally separate from a mobile network connection.
