Why am I being charged for calling my Irish friend in London

How do I avoid charges when I call my Irish friend who lives in London - EE charges me as if she is still in Europe all the time..

Yes I think the problem is its because she has an Southern Irish number - will just remember to use Whats App !

@LB6766 : Where are you when you make this call? If you are in UK, you will be charged by EE as if you are calling a non-UK no. from the UK. Such calls are not included in your allowances.

International calls & texts to overseas nos. from UK can be rather expensive but EE has a add-on, free on PAYG or £2 pm on contract, that anyone, on PAYG or contract, can apply for to give these calls & texts at a fraction of the standard rates. @LB6766  does she have a UK number, or are you calling her on her Irish mobile number?

You could call her on Whatsapp/Messenger/Viber or other apps to avoid voice charges.
