Hi there I hope you can help I’m going away to Spain and see that I now have to pay a roaming charge just under £3 a day.
Does this charge if I set it up via the 150 number automatically charge me only when I use it and don’t charge me for the whole time I am away ?
Because I’m not sure where I am going is free WiFi or it might not be the best anyway and also if I use the roaming would my daughter still be able to use my hotspot without any extra charge like she can now ?

Thanks in advance sorry it’s long and hopefully you can help

Assuming you're on pay-monthly, the £2.47/day charge applies any day you use any of your UK allowances within the EU. That means making or receiving any calls, sending any text messages or using mobile data.

WiFi is a connection between a mobile device and broadband router, and has nothing to do with EE's mobile network. Running a hotspot from your phone (which any other mobile device connects to) equates to using mobile data on your phone, and thus contributes to your daily charge.

The user of that device is then using WiFi exactly as if they were on any other router. The charges are based on the internet connection, which is yours.

Remember to ensure roaming is activated by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK. This enables access to foreign networks.

The £2.47 EU roaming charge will not be charged on any (UK) day that you use none of your UK allowances in EU. You don't need to set it up; it is auto.
