Hi @Shirley1974

You can but you need to ensure roaming is activated on your account. Text ROAMING to 150.

The costs are expensive because you're outside the EU. Please search the costs here:

https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/roaming-costs

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone. You can call Freephone +44 800 079 8586 on Skype

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

Yes. As it is not in EU, you cannot use your usual UK allowances there but will need to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs/countries/turkeyandnortherncyprus.

If you are on contract, remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure roaming is enabled on your account.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

These EE charges are disgusting, GiffGaff and other networks charge you nothing to use your phone in any other country.

It doesn’t cost EE a penny and the charges are absolutely unjustifiable

Can you provide verifiable evidence of this?

It does! They pay money to their roaming partner networks.

EE has no presence in Turkey.

O2, Giffgaff, Tesco, Asda, BT, Virgin, I.D, Lebara, Lycamobile, Plusnet, Smarty, Superdrug mobile,

ALL charge nothing to use your data or minutes/texts internationally.

EE, Three, Vodafone, Sky, TalkTalk & Voxi are the only ones who charge.

with Sky being only £2 per day to use ALL your contracted services.

Thats 11 providers that don’t charge, and only 6 that do, with EE being the most expensive. “Exploiting Customers”.

All operators have different qualities of network and different marketing strategies - in the same way that EE have never competed on price alone, GiffGaff and many of the other MVNO's you've quoted would never compete on network quality alone.

You still haven't provided any evidence of EE's wholesale roaming costs being zero.

Either way, 11 Main UK providers DO NOT charge you, 6 of them do, EE being the most expensive.

EE charges are extortionate and disproportionate to the actual costs.

I was Just Quoted over £70 in costs for minimal calls, texts & data usage for 4 days.

@L33MUA : Viz your contention that O2 is free to roam in Turkey:Capture.JPG

 BT & PN are likwise.

Which puts the rest of your "free to loam" list as highly suspect!
