I have full internet/roaming but unable to text or call even my husband sat next to me, also on EE since arriving in south dakota (could message in denver but didnt try calling). Can use WhatsApp, messenger etc. Not great as he's at a conference during the day for 3 days of our trip in case I need to call him or 911 when I'm out .calls don't connect and messages unable to send error 0 message. I have a Samsung galaxy a33 5g. I have roaming abroad on contract no spending cap, automatic network selection on.
