Hello,
I'm going travelling in December for 12 months. I am currently on a sim-only contract (the contract has finished now). I want to keep my phone number for when I return to the UK.
What's the best option for me? I was thinking about switching over to a PAYG sim, just to keep my number. And ill join a local provider in the short-term to save on costs.
Are there any restrictions on being able to dip into my sim abroad in order to check messages I might have missed. I don't need data or anything? If so what are the charges. Will I also be able to top-up the sim online while I'm abroad?
Thanks in advance.

@cessna152 : With a PAYG SIM you need within every 179 days to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.
Use Fast Top Up online with a UK bank card. You don't need to login or register anything. All you need is your mobile no. & it doesn't remember your card details.
