Starnge issues with two numbers

Hi I am having major issues. When trying to receive texts. In my phone settings my mobile number is one thing when a relative texts me they text an old number and the text gets to me. But somebody trying to text me using the number in my phone settings the message doesnt arrive.

Also if I reply to their text it comes up as the number in my settings of my phone.

On top of that my relative didnt even use the country code in front of the number to text me. Really needing help as Im trying to get the UK gove to send me an important text regarding passenger location stuff for returning back to the UK.

Which OS is your phone - are you using Android or iOS?

Have you recently ported your number from another network, into EE? Or changed your mobile number?

The number was changed after a week as I got a better deal. Both were with EE. Normally I use whatsapp not normal texting but the gove website sends a text.

I should have said the I got both numbers last year but changed to a different sim deal.
