Did you receive the welcome text message on arrival in Jersey? That, and the local network connection, is the good indicator of whether roaming is active on your phone.

What happens when you try making calls?

Where have seen EE advertising a WhatsApp number? They don't have any app-based contact methods.

Hi we both had the EE message confirming the £10/month (Ex VAT) was active, I've got 5 bars of signal connected to the JT network.

When I try to call  I get the two beeps tone (Like an old engaged tone) and then it drops the line. Not sure about where I got the impression that whatsapp would work, i've been busy googling everything so may have the wrong end of the stick with that.

We have decent WiFi at the air B and B so can access account online and FB messenger etc...

@AndyG671  You are putting 44 or +44 at the start of the number instead of the 0 ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

yes, i'm doing the +44 prefix (dropping off the leading 0).

@AndyG671  Have you restarted the device since you got there ?  Have you tried a manual network search?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hi Chris, I've done all of the above, i've done the manual network search and selected the six or so present networks, the only one that seem to give any considerable network is JT, which is showing 3G and 5 bars of signal.

I've also done the iPhone reset network settings to see if that did anything

The billing add-on you confirmed by text message, is just a pricing add-on and wouldn't of itself confirm roaming was enabled - which is the material element. Having a connection to a local network is the relevant part.

Are the symptoms identical across all Jersey networks? It sounds like a call bar is active, this by nature would affect any & every network connection. You may need to contact EE CS using a web-calling app such as Skype, to ensure your roaming facility is correctly enabled without any international call bars inplace.

Ok thanks Ill try in the morning and report back
