Hi,
I ported my number from another network to EE a month ago.
It all went well.
However when I send a text message it shows on the receiving persons phone that it came from another number I don't recognise (maybe the original number on the SIM card before I ported?). However when I call them on the same phone they get my expected number come up.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance

When you go into Settings then About Phone, does the correct number show, @Adrienne71?

To anyone who comes across this in the future:
I had the same issue, and it is because RCS messaging is registered to the old number prior to porting over. To fix it just search "RCS" in settings, click RCS chats > RCS chats and turn off RCS chats, then turn them back on to register them with your new number.
Good luck!

Hi @ncp123,
Welcome to the EE Community 🙂
What type of phone is it you are using?
If it is an Android, if you go to Message Settings> RCS chats> turn it off and then turn it back on and that should update your number.
If it is an iPhone, go into Settings> Phone> My number and update this if needed. And then check iMessage in Settings> Messages> iMessage> Scroll down to Send and Receive> Select the correct number.
Let us know if that resolves it for you 🙂

Hi Alex
Turning off the RCS chats, but not turning them back on worked for me. When I turned it back on the old number was still displayed.
Thanks
