Roaming

The instructions are to text "Roaming" to 150 to determine if Roaming is turned on or what else to do. But for me this does not work, no reply to the text, nothing happens. And the online help is no use, it doesn't understand the question and just refers to the instructions that don't work.

Texting ROAMING to 150 is indeed the correct advice to check for, and enable, international roaming.

If you have sent the text and not received a reply, I'd try sending the message again. There is no way to enable roaming on an individual phone, online.

repeated texting doesn't work either.

have tried from UK, and from outside UK. I'm on contract, and it doesn't matter what I text I get no responses. Text Roam for options it says. Doesn't work. "Roaming" should get another help, also no response.

I'm now in Turkey and on connecting phone to EE through local network I do get a message to say that I can opt out of Business Daily Passport at any time. But I have no faith in texts to 150, as none have worked for a long time. At least no responses.

If I log in on app to see what I'm getting charged, I get silly messages such as "oops something went wrong, try again later". And later I get the same.

So I have no idea what system I'm on, what rates, can't check anything, cant apparently change anything, and that leaves me generally very dissatisfied.  Running blind and don't know where! This forum seems the only outlet to connect to humans that make sensible responses. Thanks to those trying to help, but I'd expect that my primary source of help should be EE, not other customers!

Hello @Crithwood

Is your contract a business contract?

With a Business Daily Passport you can call and text all you want plus use 1GB of data in USA, Australia, Canada, China, India, Israel, New Zealand, Qatar, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand and Turkey for £7.83 per day.

More information can be found on this HERE.

I would recommend getting in touch with technical care when you return if you are unable send texts to 150 whilst in the UK.

You mention that you're now abroad and have a connection to one of the Turkish networks. Your roaming facility is therefore active - without roaming, you can only connect to EE's UK network and no foreign ones.

You can view roaming costs for Turkey at https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/roaming/roaming-costs/countries/turkeyandnortherncyprus
