I paid for 15 pounds for a month of roaming in Australia and it’s not working. It says it’s in my add one but my phone only works near wifi

The website is incredibly clunky and taking forever to load. I’ve looked in my settings and it says I’ve bought an add on roaming package for 15 pounds per month

Hi @Skendo

Although you have activated roaming and purchased an add-on your phone has not connected to a local network which mean non of these will work. 

Could you confirm if you are aware of others experiencing this?

What shows in the top right corner of your phone? for example 'No Service'.

If you activated roaming by texting ROAMING to 150, did you receive a response? And did you subsequently receive a welcome text message on arrival in Australia?

These would be good evidence that your roaming facility is active. If, for whatever reason it's not, this could easily explain your symptoms.

Yes I texted roaming to 150 and received a confirmation text that I’d purchased a roaming add on. No further texts from 150 since I arrived in Oz

Texting ROAMING to 150 enables the roaming facility, it doesn't purchase a billing add-on.

If that was the confirmation you received, I suspect you texted ROAMING PASS to 150 - and therefore potentially have not enabled roaming.

If this is true, then you have the billing add-on but without the roaming facility which enables your phone to connect to foreign networks. This would explain your lack of coverage abroad.

Do you know what I should do next? My phone is useless unless connected to wifi and I can’t call 150 because I’m outside UK with no roaming!
