Roaming v spend cap

Hi all

I'm not paying extra for roaming, because that's basic theft.

I have my spend cap set at zero, so can I safely leave my phone connected while abroad to receive any texts? What will happen to people who call me? 

Previously I've been charged for things even though my spend cap is set to zero, which is utter bs.

Of course, as with everything you have to way off what is best for your personal needs. Some people never go abroad and won't have this issue, but for people who do go regularly this is definitely a big downside if on EE and I know for a fact that in our situation we were better off leaving the EE phone at home and just using the cheapy Tesco one abroad.
