Roaming Mexico

Hi, I’ve just come to Mexico and rang EE a few days before setting off and added the calls texts and data roaming package to both lines on my account. I got a couple of texts of EE when I arrived at the airport but now I’m getting absolutely no mobile signal at all! All set up correctly my end and used my account abroad many times so should be all set up correctly. Is it just the coverage in Mexico is that bad or EE’s fault?

@t0mmaUK   just to check roaming is enable on your EE account?  If it is have you restarted the device since you got there ?  Have you tried manually searching for a network?  Is your network data settings set to 5G/4G or auto ?     It’s not EEs network so your trying to connect too.

Hi. Yes phone been restarted and yes as I said I’ve used my phone in various countries both in and out of the EU. I do very rarely get a connection to TelCel (or something along those lines) but I’ve never been able to make a call as they keep failing and I’ve tried to send various messages and only 1 has gone through successfully. I’m guessing it’s just garbage coverage here in Mexico but it’s a bit crap being charged for a roaming package that isn’t fit for purpose!

If you leave your device on automatic network selection it will connect to the strongest available signal at any given time in the area.
