Returning from abroad

I've just returned from an overseas cruise. While I was abroad the ship's wi-fi system re-set all my connections to its own system. I've re-set them to EE, but the system seems to think that I'm still abroad and keeps asking me to buy more data. I've texted BACK HOME to 150, but it hasn't made any difference.
Any suggestions to get me out of this mess?
Thank you.

Hi @dances43

What device do you have.

Have you tried setting network selection to automatic or EE (under network settings).

Thanks

WiFi is just a connection between a mobile device and broadband router, there's no phone settings it can change beyond your phone choosing to "always automatically connect" if that hotspot is available.

Does your phone show a connection to EE's mobile network? Do you have mobile data enabled in your phone's settings?

Or are you connected to another WiFi hotspot now?

@dances43  Have you tried just restarting the device so it re-establishes the network connection?

Yeah, done the works.

Currently being told that my data allowance refreshes tomorrow, Monday, so perhaps that will fix it.

Hi @dances43

Thanks for coming to our community.

Was it our technical team you spoke to who asked you to wait until tomorrow? Do pop back and let us know how it goes tomorrow and if everything is back to normal.

Hey @dances43, thanks for the update 😊

I'm really glad to hear that sorted things out too; occasionally your phone just needs a bit of encouragement to pick up a network, and disconnecting then reconnecting manually will more often than not get things back into gear.

You take care too,

Peter
