@GraceMJ : For sending texts, ensure your phone's Messaging app has the Message Centre no. setting for EE as +447958879879.

I have a Nokia and for a few days was unable to send or receive texts or calls and contacted EE and was told I needed a 4G Sim card as my current 3G one can't be used. They sent me a new Sim today and I'm just waiting for it to be activated so I can use it (it takes 24 hours since EE rang to make sure I received it and she updated things her end).

@MrsB77 : They told you some nonsense! The 3G network is closing/has closed down but you can still make calls & texts over 2G & you wouldn't notice the diff. It's for data that you really need a 4G SIM.

I discovered it wasn't working after a friend kept trying to call me for several hours and got 'the person you have called is not available' each time. Also her texts weren't being sent and I couldn't send any either so I bought a new Nokia (that I now know was not necessary) and put in the old Sim and it wouldn't text either so I contacted EE and was told I needed a 4G Sim.

@MrsB77 : You don't need a 4G SIM for calls & texts. You can use a 3G SIM & it will just use 2G for calls & texts.
