Did you mean:

ROAM EU v ROAMEU INT

Hi, I'm going to Greece shortly and the EE Roaming checker suggests texting ROAM EU to 150 to restrict roaming to the EU only and prevent picking up a Turkish network. When I do that, I get the below message. Not sure which I should choose? Will ROAM EU prevent me calling back home?

I will be using a Roam Abroad pass too.

Your device is set up to be used for roaming in any country.

If you'd like to restrict this to the EU only roaming (this also means you can't make international calls while in the UK) reply ROAM EU, but if you'd prefer to roam in the EU and to call anywhere when in the UK or EU, then reply ROAMEU INT.

@mazj_uk : Yes, as the msg says it just won't let you make international calls while in the UK, for which you needed to have replied ROAMEU INT instead.

You also need to text ROAMING to 150 before you leaving UK to ensure roaming is enabled on your account.

Roam EU will enable your phone to connect to EU-based networks. If you want to use your phone on non-EU networks, you will need global roaming enabled.

Unfortunately, it's the nature of border areas that you can sometimes pickup coverage from a "foreign" network, or in this case a non-EU one.

Thank you 👍🏻 Just to confirm then, with ROAM EU enabled, I will be able to use my phone to call back to a UK landline/mobile from Greece as normal (with my Roam Abroad pass enabled)?

When I text ROAMEU INT to 150, I get a reply saying:
