My phones not working abroad

I’ve purchased the roaming add on and I still can’t use my phone for some reason to make calls

Welcome to the community.

Are you on contract or pay as you go? As well as choosing an add-on, you need to activate the SIM for roaming abroad. Did you do that before leaving the UK?
