Marketing texts...please STOP

I regularly receive marketing texts asking me to purchase data and calls add ons. (I'm PAYG). The text says to opt out send STOP to 2000 which I do every time, but I immediately get a text back saying 'sorry we couldn't recognise your request'. Any ideas?

and the usual BT f'witted b/s starts to leak into EE.

If you're having this same problem, have you text STOP to 1234 as suggested above?
