Did you mean:

I can't call my partner

papaspoony

I have a SIM only plan with EE.  My partner has a PAYG plan with T-Mobile - owned, run and administered by EE, who get the money every time we top up and whose equipment is used by T-Mobile customers.

Texting between us is not a problem.  Nor is there any difficulty if my partner calls me.

If as/when I try to call my partner, however, I am put straight through to "if you have dialled correctly, this number is not available on this network".  **bleep**?

I don't understand; FAQ offers no solution; hen I've tried online contact nobody is ever available.  Can anybody in the community offer a solution, or have any idea what I should do?

Many thanks

Hi @papaspoony.

What phones are you both using?

When was the last time you could call your partner?

Jon

Hi, Jon.

I'm using an Oukitel C15 Pro (generic smartphone, running android Pie)
whilst she uses an Artfone (clamshell, a bit like a Doro). Everything was
fine until 2 or 3 weeks ago.

I'd been thinking it might have something to do with the different 'G'
systems (2,3,4,5), if it wasn't for her being able to call me.and texts
being OK. .

I don't know if any of that helps but I freely admit to being dumb where
all this is concerned.

Thanks

Are you dialling your partner's number directly using the number keys? Or using your contacts list?

Does it make any difference?

Thanks for this.

I tried direct dialling and it worked, followed immediately by a try from
my contacts list, which failed.

It's not a full solution but it is a good workaround until I find the
answer.

Thank you

Then the stored contact no. must be wrong. Check it! Have you replaced the initial '0' in it with '+44'?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up => 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB => 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB => 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU => 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU => 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC => 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC => 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC => 2022: EE 80 Meg FTTC (no landline number)
Makes no difference whether it's 0 or +44 (and, yes, the number in contacts
starts +44)

If you've not done so already, try deleting the contacts book entry and re-creating it.

07xxx format is preferable to +447xxx format, but there shouldn't be any functional difference within the UK.

I've just tried that as a good idea, bristolian, but it hasn't made any
difference.

Direct dialling works, stored dialling doesn't and I still have no idea
why.

Maybe it'll start working again as suddenly as it stopped and nobody will
ever know why...

Thanks for trying.

Are you able to try putting your SIM in a different phone, @papaspoony?

Just to see if you're able to make a call through the contact entry on that?
