Help turning voicemail off

Hi there!

I have looked through at least a dozen threads on this topic, but the common reply of texting VM OFF to 150 does not work for me. I have also tried texting VM ON and then VM OFF, still no luck. I am met with the reply of 'Sorry, we're having some trouble completing your request at the moment. Please try again later.'

I have been trying this on and off for a few months and it is always the same reply.

I am pay as you go, if it is relevant.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me, please?

Thank you and have a lovely day!

If you typed in ##002# into your phone and then dialled it like you would a phone number then you should have seen a confirmation that diverts are cancelled.

One way to be sure is switch your phone off and call it from another line, you should hear a message saying the phone is unavailable rather than it routing to voicemail.

That's a handy code to remember, works exactly the same way on Vodafone and O2 lines (as well as most MVNOs). Only major UK network that doesn't allow you to cancel voicemail this way is Three. They insist you deactivate it via the app or through customer care.

I'm having a similar issue.  I switched it off before going abroad and now I cannot get it back on.  All I get is a message saying, 'We've had a problem with your request, please try again a little later.' This has been going on for almost two weeks!

Hi

I switched my VM off before going on holiday using VM OFF to 150.  No problem.

BUT, when I use VM ON to the same 150 all I get is' We've had a problem with your request, please try again a little later.' This has been going on since 18th May so it's not 'a little later,' it's weeks later.  Can somebody help me please?

I'm on a full pay-monthly account, by the way.

Hi @RalphWatson

Thanks for coming here.

Please give us a call on 150 and the team will be happy to help get the voicemail set back up for you 🙂

Leanne.

Tried the VM OFF to 150 several times but kept getting "Try again later" message. I got the impression that at EE HQ they had more hamsters at certain times to turn the power and decision wheel and I only tried when 1  idle hamster was available.

All this started when I thought it more sociable to have a voice mail that was on.

But when it was on, I had to answer phone within nano seconds before call went to voice mail.

So I tried to split the atom with all the online coding solutions of numerical, # and * formulae to get rings up to 30 seconds to give me a slight chance of being able to answer the phone. This was not achievable and so I decided to turn VM off and was unsuccessful until the magic bean solution of ##002# was offered by _MrR_

Thankyou.

For anyone just visiting, like me as of 13/6/23

Its *#002# as per old the old GSM codes we remember fondly. On ee, I can't speak for other networks, dial *#002# and it'll show what is all being forwarded, or not

This is very handy thanks. But do you then know the code to switch it back on please?

Hi @thejonsalt

You can text VM ON to 150 when you would like the voicemail activated again 🙂

Hope this helps.

Leanne.

VM ON and VM OFF hasn't worked for me. I get a text response of: We've had a problem with your request, please try again a little later.
