Hi there,

I have a contract with EE and pay monthly. I am off to France and am worried about racking up a huge bill with internet and calls. How can I check what I have and can I upgrade for a week to make things cheaper?  Thank you!!

France is within the EU and thus on pay monthly you will pay a £2.47 flat charge any day you use any of your UK allowances.

That means making or receiving any calls, sending any texts or using mobile data. Receiving texts is free anywhere in  the world.

Remember to ensure roaming is enabled on your phone, this is crucial to unlock access to foreign networks - text ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK.

@Vonster : You may use your usual UK allowances in the EU with up to 50 GB (contract) or 25 GB (PAYG) data per billing month if you have more. If on contract & your contract started after 07/07/2021 there'll be a £2.47 / day charge for using your UK allowances in EU or alternatively you may buy the Roam Abroad Pass for £25 / billing month.

As you are on contract, just remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure the roaming ability is enabled on your account.
