My Son is in Ibiza and has received a text from EE to say that he will be £2 a day for calls , texts and data is that correct .

@di58 If this contract was taken out after the 7th of July 2021 then yes this is correct.

An add on can be purchased at £10 per month ( cancel it when back in the uk ) to allow the usage of the tariff allowance without paying the £2 per day to use the device.

If he hasn’t got a roaming add on that covers the country he is visiting then this very well may be the case, I’d advise calling 150 just to double check things with them.
