My wife and I in France.  Both have EE phones.  Both got messages that roaming was active and we could use our minutes, texts and data as in the UK.

but we can’t callEACH OTHER. We had the same problem last time we were in France.  Called EE on that occasion but no solution was given.

does anyone know what to do in the case?

thsnks.

Welcome to the EE Community @Graham2190

What happens when you try to call each other?

Do both your phones show coverage of a local network operator?

If no - that's indicative of roaming not being activated

If yes - can you call other numbers, is it only this one specific number that's affected?

Hi@Bristolian. Both of us have a signal and can use data.  I can call anyone except my wife.  My wife can’t call anyone.

Hi @Graham2190

Can your wife receive and send texts?

What happens if you try and call her number?

Leanne 🙂

Hi Leanne_T

we can send messages to each other but we have iPhones so the messages go via iMessage.  Not really rexts.

When I call her I get ‘ Call Failed’ and a Call Again? Button.

she says that sometimes, just before I get ‘Call Failed’, she briefly sees that I’m calling her.

Thanks @Graham2190

Is the phone connected to WiFi when the iMessage is sent and received?

Leanne.

Hi. No. We are both on mobile.  I even tried forcing her phone to be on same network (Orange FR) as me.

G.

@Graham2190  You do have 44 or +44 at the start of the number instead of a 0

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hi.  It doesn’t seem to make a difference whether I use 0 or 44 or +44. Thanks.
