I have recently made some calls to Australia and seem to have been charged a lot more than the £1/min it suggests on the calculator. Why is this? Also am I able to buy a roaming pass to offset these charges if they have already been made? I didn't realise you could do that before I made the calls

Hi @callingabroad12.
Are you calling Australia from the UK?
If yes, you would not benefit from the Roam Abroad Pass however, there is international minutes you can buy for calling Australia from the UK. For example 500 minutes for £13.03.
Any current charges would not be able to be covered by the pass, this would be for calls going forward.

Yes from the UK - but will that offset the money that has already been spent? And why are the calls costing me more than £1/min please?

Hi @callingabroad12.
The standard rate for calling an Australian mobile is £3.91 per minute.
More information for calling Australia can be found HERE.

@callingabroad12 : Approx. how much per min are you being charged?
It's only £1 / min at standard rates on PAYG. Is that what you are on? If you are the following applies to you:
International calls & texts to overseas nos. from UK can be rather expensive but EE has a free add-on that anyone, on PAYG, can apply for to give these calls & texts at a fraction of the standard rates. See The Free CALL ABROAD Add-on for Cheap Calls/Texts from UK .
