Call forwarding when travelling abroad

I have two contract sims in my phone, one with EE and one with Lebara. EE charge for roaming whereas Lebara has roaming included. Is it possible to forward all of my EE calls to my Lebara number without cost during my trip?

You can set an unconditional divert-all which will have the described effect. You'll be charged for each diverted call as if you had called the number in the UK - which is often "inclusive".

The call will be diverted within the UK and therefore will not reach your EE SIM. Where that SIM is, becomes immaterial. Calls calls be diverted, text messages cannot be.

Would I just do this via my iPhone settings and that will communicate it to EE? Or do I need to do via another method? Thanks

I don't think this will work when you subsequently take the SIM out?

Diverts are set on the core network and remain set until explicitly cancelled or amended.

Thus they don't need a SIM active in a phone to continue working.

ah okay I see, that makes sense! will try it. one final question, would it work on a foreign number? so i set up forwarding on my iphone, fly abroad (non UK/EU) and put in a local SIM, and it will forward to that number? and charge whatever of course just like if i called a foreign number?

I'm not sure if forwarding to a non UK number works though. You should test it if possible whilst in the UK.
