6th Report of SMS service down in the last week

What on earth is going on with EE network? I have a bunch of Payg sims ordered at various times over the last year for different portable electronic projects and NONE of them are working to receive SMS. All of them are active, most were in use only a week ago. I am now the 6th person on this forum to report the SMS issue just in the last week on here.

Just gone to check the service status to find the service status service is down, what a joke!

Can staff get in contact with the technical engineering team to give a realistic time on when this will be sorted?

@matt0909   Have you reported this back to EE ?   Just coming here to say this doesn’t get it reported back.  It’s obvious not a wide spread issue as you say you’re the 6th person to report it in the last week.   And the service checker is working for me.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

When did you last make a chargeable action with these various PAYG SIMs? You needed to make at least 1 with each within the last 6 months. Receiving texts is not chargeable.

When I go to the service checker I get "This service isn’t working right now Please try again later or contact us for support."

Most people probably aren't using SMS or even aware it's not working yet so it could well be wide spread.

As stated I have many SIMS that were all active last week, I even have some new ones ordered recently which aren't working.

In what way were they active? What did you do from them?

They have made chargeable transactions within the last 6 months. I have 3 sims I ordered from EE last week and none of those are working either out of the envelope.

So to anyone else with this issue it turns out EE are sending fresh sims which arrive already suspended or about to expire. Pretty poor service.

24 hours later, sims STILL not working, another call to CS I suppose..

This really is a shambles.. the CS rep I spoke to said he's getting increasing numbers of calls like me and on their system this SMS issue is now logged as accounting for more than 5% of ALL tech support calls! The suspensions were a red herring and the system issue is ongoing 13 days since it was first reported, still no clear fix coming. All he could say was to let him report every one of my EE sim numbers so he could log each one separately to try to force mounting pressure on them to fix it. Unbelievable.
