5G

I would like to block 5G. It causes connectivity issues when the phone, a Google pixel 9a, is trying to find a signal, so the signal drops while, or until, it finds a 4G one. This searching is causing delays when on calls or using data, and I'm sure it is draining the battery. I spoke on the phone to ee tech support a few days ago, they recommended contacting google. But online searches suggest that if the option to switch to 4G isn't available in the phone's settings, then it is likely the operator has locked it to force 5G. Is the 'operator' ee? Anyone help?

Hi @Lornam2

Thanks for coming to our community.

If the option to turn off 5G isn't appearing, then that isn't available and can't be added.

Did the technical team look into why you were having issues with 5G?

She was going to try something but we got cut off. She later left a voicemail saying she'd undone that, and that I'd be better contacting google. But I thing they will say that this is something my phone company has control of, not the manufacturer of the phone. However I will give it a go.
