01624 are Channel Islands numbers and, although part of the UK numbering plan, are international calls - the UK networks don't provide coverage to the islands.

Actually that number is NOT the Channel Islands. It is, in fact, the Isle of Man.
I understand that the Islands are not serviced by EE, (although they were free, as was EU data, when I was with BT who passed me on to EE) and my point is that EE specifically say all 01 numbers ARE included and nowhere, that I have found, do they exclude the IOM or, indeed, the CI’s!
Yet they charge for them

IOM is not officially part of the UK (or the EU), The Island is a self-governing British Crown Dependency, the Island has its own Telecom Operator Manx Telecom.

Must admit that I, like everyone else I feel, did not go into the details of the terms and conditions nor even did I or do I know where they are!!
I do feel that the exclusion of the IOM and CI should also be included in the main part of the description of “International calls” which appears in the billing section when you have actually dialled one! I have never thought of them as international even though I lived there once and they were not when I was BT up to one year ago and their telecom provider has not changed!.
I will certainly be looking around more carefully when my contract renewal date approaches and not accepting the providers word like I did when moving from BT to EE when I was told that that was policy and “nothing would change but the name and payment details”!!
