iPhone 16 Pro Max 5G standalone

Hi.

I am trying to enable the 5G standalone on my iPhone 16 pro max. My tariff has the standalone.

I replaced my SIM card and the EE store in London told me, standalone will work less 24 hours.

After 2 days, I can’t turn on the standalone. I visited another EE store in London. They had no clue about the 5g standalone.

I rang the customer service and they told me to visit an EE store.

My question did anyone with psychical sim managed to enable 5g standalone in an iPhone 16 pro max?

Thank you

It is working. I ordered a SIM card from the EE.com. As soon as I placed the SIM card, 5G Standalone was enabled on my iPhone 16 pro max 🙂

Hi @Panda5432

Welcome to the Community.

To get 5G Standalone, you would need an Enabled price plan (i.e. All Rounder or Full Works), a compatible device, a compatible SIM card and be in a 5G Standalone coverage area.

It doesn't show as your device being compatible yet, but looking at Apples website it does show it's compatible with 5G Standalone, so it should be available in the near future.

Keep an eye out on How To Get 5G SA | EE for updates.

Hi Ali,

Thank you very much for your message.

My tariff (all rounder) has 5G Standalone enabled. SIM card is the new one with the EE1510 code on the SIM card. I checked from iPhone's field mode, I have the 5G SA signal.

But I didn't check the device compatibility on EE' site. I assumed iPhone 16 Pro Max, it was compatible with the EE SA system.

It's working on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, I thought the 16s were supported?

Does MyEE show the 5G Standalone add-on is on your plan?

Did you replace your SIM card? How did you manage to get it running?

I have moved to an eSIM, but it was working before with the physical SIM too.

This is what the add-on should look like:

Well it is odd that @Ali_A says it's not on the supported list, but might be worth swapping to an eSIM if that's something you want to try?

I will try to order new sim from the app.

Interesting thing, 5g SA works on your iPhone but apple is not supported yet. I am a bit confused 😞
