I was informed by text a few days ago there would be work on EEs network that could result in disruption, that might last 8 days.
I guess the work has started because I cannot make phone calls. I have an extremely unwell family member, I'm worried sick, and also I'm extremely unwell myself and need to coordinate medication for myself and my family member whilst also liaising with social services, landlords, etc etc.
Am I really going to be in this situation for 8 days? To make calls I have to leave the house (which my Dr urged me strongly not to do). It feels beyond callous to leave customers -vulnerable or otherwise - in a situation like this.
Thanks

Hello @FxxxingHelpMe.
Welcome to the community.
I am sorry to hear the work is being completed at a time when you require your service the most.
Do you have home broadband?
If yes, are you able to use WiFi Calling?
Speak soon,
Katie

Unfortunately sometimes network improvement works do require service outages to carry out, and from time-to-time this can mean a loss of coverage in a particular location. Outages are always kept to a minimum, but sometimes it is unavoidable.
If you have a broadband internet connection, then a WiFi-router would allow you to continue using your phone anytime you have a loss of indoor coverage for whatever reason.

I'm really sorry to hear that you and your Mum are both unwell. Our engineers will be working hard to restore the service back to normal as soon as possible, @FxxxingHelpMe.
