Good Afternoon All,

Specifically and briefly, what are the main benefits of using WiFi?

For balance, public WiFi also has some security risks if you're using a device for any sensitive data. I've never been convinced it has any speed advantage over mobile data, but that's subjective.

Technically - it's just a wireless connection between a mobile device (tablet, laptop, phone) and broadband router.

@Metaverse : It's free to use off your Home BB. It's usually free to use at hotspots around about, like coffee bars, bars, restaurants, public transport ... It might be chargeable in some hotels. Widespread BT WiFi / Fon requires a sub.

Whereas using the mobile network either eats your data allowance or you have to buy data.
