Hi All.
I am havig a strange issue with my school websites. The sites below can't be accessed on either BT/ EE broadband or mobile nextwork unless the device is linked with a VPN. I have contacted the hosting provider who have said there isn't an issue and done a deep dive, same with the domain name provider.
Has any one experianced this before where websites work fine on a different ISP but not on BT/EE?
Here are the websites:
- leighacademymilestone.org.uk
- leighacademybearsted.org.uk
- leighacademyhalley.org.uk
- leighacademyhorsmonden.org.uk
- leighacademyoaks.org.uk
- leighacademymolehill.org.uk
- leighstationersprimaryacademy.org.uk
- leighacademypaddockwood.org.uk
Thanks in advanced.

Hi @brantdryver
Welcome to the community.
What happens when you try to view the websites? If you try on another device that is connected to the same WiFi network, are you able to access them?

Many thanks.
This is what I get when trying to access from either EE broadband or EE mobile on any device. This is also the same message that users get when they try and access on BT 😕
Ta, Brant

I can reach all of them on EE BB.
From the error mag you are getting there may be an issue with the DNS. Which are you using? I'm using OpenDNS.
To try to get round this issue switch the Auto DNS in the router away from EE's ones to Manual with 1 of these public DNS pairs:
OpenDNS : 208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220 Google DNS: 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4
Cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1
To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone
ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Where are your websites hosted? There is another forum with a little of people having issues with websites hosted with Siteground. It could be related. It stayed a few days ago, and for some reason we aren't yet clear about, using EE's DNS servers on a EE SIM card connection, it will not resolve the IP address. You simply get page not found error. Using alternative DNS servers, as the other roles suggested proves it's the EE DNS that's failing, as the website works if you set your device to use google DNS, 8.8.8.8, or say Opendns 208.67.222.222 as examples. A few of us have got no where calling EE Support so far. But check the other forum if you are using siteground.

edit - I checked and you are using Cloudflare so far as I can tell from the check on the first website above. I guess it could well be the same issue though. If we get anywhere with EE, I'll be posting in the forum above, so can hopefully help if we know what's gone wrong.
Edit2. I can access the top website from the same phone that we cannot access our siteground site from, so looks like a different issue.

Ah, yes, well spotted. It's unrelated. But no way to delete it now.
