Re: Apply to have a mobile phone mast installed

Hello,

I'd like to report an area where there is absolutely no signal (not just from EE but from all UK networks). We're considering purchasing a property but the issue of no mobile signal is something that is weighing it down. How can we try and get some signal in the area? It'd help the livelihoods of many in the area.

Thanks

Hi @Jjammas

There must be a reason ( local council, nimbys).

EE offer WiFi calling via home landline for such issues.

Thanks

Planners usually have a pretty good idea where no-coverage areas are, but to have nothing from any network is fairly unusual and suggests to me this is potentially a rural area?

There are industry-wide programmes such as the Shared Rural Network - https://srn.org.uk/ - to provide service in these areas, EE also have obligations under the Emergency Services Network programme.

The local authority planning system is often a stumbling block and cause of proposed new sites being rejected.

Hi,

That's right, it's a rural area in North Devon. There's no UK Network operators working there whatsoever. No signal for any of them, and for a long stretch of the road like 15 minutes down it too, there's nothing. It's concerning for me as I'd like to stay connected but my partner is less so bothered! I did already check out the SRN but it's hard to see if when work would be done in that area of North Devon.

Thanks

Welcome to the Community, @Jjammas

Are you looking to propose land for a potential future site, or just looking to query expansion opportunities in general?

As a starting point, it's definitely worth heading over to our coverage checker, taking a look at the network status, and submitting a problem report for the area.

This highlights to our network team that you're struggling in this location, and these reports do ultimately help inform any future expansion plans.
