I've just received a text, which came from "Unknown" stating "Great news! We've just updated some of your network settings, please restart your phone to make sure it's up to date".

Is this a legitimate text from ee, or a scam?

Well, I have to say I’m very confused. I get that the agent might not know about auto updates, but surely it should have shown up on my account? And it didn’t.

Anyway, I’ll stop fretting about it and put it down to another technological anomaly.

Why is it great news?  What benefit is this update bringing?

I got the same txt today so what's changing?

If you give us a call on 150, the team can check your account to see which settings have been updated to generate the text message being sent to you.

Why has EE undated my network settings and what are the changes ?

Welcome to the community,

 

There is nothing to worry about the changes, EE update their network settings, this happens sometime, it is normal.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.
